Atlanta Asian Film Festival To Hold Press Conference on
2nd Annual Festival
AAFF To Introduce Film Lineup
For Festival in Sept 2006
The organizing committee of the Atlanta Asian Film Festival (AAFF) will hold a press
conference on Wednesday, August 23 from 11:00 am to noon at Woodruff Arts Center in
midtown.
The objective of the press conference is to introduce film lineup for this year's festival from
Sept 22-28,
2006. Films from different AsianPacific
countries including China, India,
Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and
Vietnam will be shown at this year’s festival. The festival will also include a film made by an
AsianAmerican
woman.
A majority of the films are US premieres. Several films in the lineup have received accolades
at the Cannes Festival and other major international film festivals.
Atlanta Asian Film Festival is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to educating the Atlanta
community about the rich diversity of AsianPacific
culture through films. AAFF's goal is to
create an annual consciousnessraising
celebration of Asian American cultures through
educational and informative films in an entertaining context.
The venues for the festival are Woodruff Arts Center, Mercer University Atlanta, Georgia
Perimeter College Dunwoody,
and Kennesaw State University.
